DANGER: Do Not Plan When Tired

Why is this not plastered across all wedding planning notebooks, sites and general paraphernalia?! I mean, seriously?

You would think that this would be a given. When we’re tired, we’re emotional, often irrational and definitely over-sensitive. And we’re so often tired while planning our weddings.

I know that.

Seriously, I know that.

I forgot that.

I definitely forgot that when I opened an email from our photographers with a link to our engagement pictures….after I’d been traveling for more than 10 hours and was super jet-lagged and, frankly, didn’t even know what time zone I was in.

Guess when you’re most super-hyper-critical of yourself and only notice the supposed flaws, never the features that you normally love about yourself?

When you’ve been traveling for more than 10 hours and are super jet-lagged and, frankly, don’t even know what time zone you are in.

That’s all I’m going to say for today. This post isn’t about how gorgeous the pictures are (which I quickly recognized the next morning, after a good night’s sleep) or about sharing them for the world to see (which I’ll do soon, I swear. Mostly so we can give major props to our incredible photographers!)

This post is purely a public service announcement — made not only to save the minds of brides everywhere, but also their loved ones, fiancés (and possibly the vendors they are paying good money!) from the insanity of our over-tired minds.

Now….I can say with a good degree of certainty that if you are planning your wedding, you are tired. You have not slept enough. So you have permission (and possibly even a directive!) to go take a nap before you make any further decisions!
